This has to be the most expensive restaurant in Lagos! Was it worth it?

In September, I decided to take some outdoor photos for the Gram. As a content creator, sometimes you want to take great photos in different places just to spice up your content and creativity, and in my quest to find the perfect spot, I went with Eko Atlantic. But of course before entering Eko Atlantic I had to indicate where I was going and told them at the door that I was going to the restaurant (I actually meant the Pearl restaurant).

There’s this thing they do at Eko Atlantic, where they give you a ticket at the gate and you have to stamp the ticket at your destination, then they’ll get the ticket stamped from you (at the gate) when you leave. Thank God for that, because that’s how I discovered this very beautiful restaurant, called “Black Pepper”. It was so beautiful that my heart skipped a beat. I’ll tell you all about that in a moment.

So I got to Black Pepper and sat down to place an order for “something light” as it was not planned. I was maybe thinking of the chicken wings and my usual Strawberry Daiquiri (you know that time when you wait for someone in a restaurant and you decide to have something like bottled water so people don’t not looking at you funny … MDR) and by the time I looked at the menu I decided to just settle for my cocktail and leave because I certainly couldn’t afford the food on that menu as this visit was unplanned. But I also decided that one day, when I was a “big girl”, I would come back and spoil myself just for the fun of it, and that’s exactly what I did on Wednesday (I went to spoil myself in as a big girl). I turned 25 recently and thought I deserved it (I always get freebies so contact me on IG. If Davido can do it, I can too… MDR).

So as usual, I classify my restaurants according to the following elements: ambiance, service and food, but allow me to add an additional criterion: “prices / costs”.

I will explain my experience based on these criteria. Sit back and enjoy.

1. The atmosphere: First of all, Black Pepper is a rooftop restaurant which is in Pearl Towers at Eko Atlantic, so if you know Pearl Towers, you already know the location is very beautiful, from the skyscraper to the view of the swimming pool, and the environment very neat and well maintained, everything is so beautiful. There are 3 sections in this restaurant: the outdoor area, the indoor area and the private lounge.

The outdoor space gives you the Maldivian vibe: you can sit here, cool off after a hard day’s work, sip a cocktail with your daughters over lunch, have a few drinks, or smoke if you do. It is also good for an outdoor candle wedding reception as it is quite spacious. You can even organize a hangout there in December and trust me, you’ll love the vibe.

The interior space is well lit and has a very comfortable wood finish. This is a place you would choose for a chic intimate date or a fancy dinner (those guys you see in the movies). You can also have lunch for 2, propose to your girlfriend, or take your parents to lunch and spoil them, you can organize a lunch meeting with your prestigious clients in this space. And in the spirit of Christmas, they already have an illuminated Christmas tree.

The private lounge: I did not enter this space, but you can request to use the private lounge at no additional cost if you want some privacy.

There are countless image spots, and for content creators, you are allowed to make videos.

2. The service: The service is great, this is the second restaurant I have visited that has such good service. My food arrived in under 10 minutes and the staff were very polite, the chef even put on a show for me. They also take safety precautions; every now and then they disinfect the tables and the environment is sparkling clean.

3. The food (my favorite part): I ordered the T-Bone steak. It wasn’t the most expensive thing on the menu and I will definitely say this is the best steak I have ever had. First, I was asked how I wanted my steak (most restaurants forget to ask me how I prefer my steak), I said I wanted a rare steak and that’s exactly what I wanted. got. The steak was not dry, it still had its natural juice and was delicious. The steak came with jollof rice and while not exactly party jollof or firewood jollof as we call it, it tasted a bit like firewood and it didn was not dry (like the jollof from Ghana); it was just like we Nigerians like it. I also ordered the Strawberry Daiquiri cocktail and it was the best cocktail I had had in Lagos, NO CAP.

4. The cost: Although the prices were not very affordable, the food and service, as well as the ambience, was well worth it. I spent a total of 34k for the meal and the cocktail. I think the most expensive meal on the menu is the leg of lamb and it costs N78,000, but it serves 3-4 people, so if you look at it it’s not that bad.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a place for Christmas or New Years lunch this would be a great option. If you are going to have important guests soon, this is also a great option. Hope you enjoyed reading this.
