Florida restaurant to pay $ 690,000 to settle EEOC sexual bias lawsuit


By Joyce Hanson (October 26, 2021, 9:38 p.m. EDT) – A Florida restaurant has agreed to pay $ 690,000 to settle claims by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in federal court that a supervisor subjected female employees to unwelcome conduct and sexual comments, also consenting to the implementation of stricter policies against sexual harassment.

Carrabba’s Italian Grill LLC and affiliate OS Restaurant Services LLC on Monday signed an EEOC consent decree that resolves the case alleging that Sean Bommarito, former managing partner of Carrabba’s restaurant in Brandon, Fla., Submitted female employees to sexual harassment in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act 1964.
