Davenports begins work at former Worcester Steak n Grill
A NEW upcoming pub in Worcester City Center has begun renovation work in its new location.
The former Worcester Steak n Grill House was bought by Midlands-based brewery Davenports earlier this year.
The site is expected to undergo various refurbishments before the new pub can open.
It was confirmed to the Worcester News that work was underway and the roof was already being repaired as it needed a lot of work.
Davenports have also recently completed another pub in Birmingham, The Queen’s Head, and are planning further renovations at another location in the near future.

The site shared in June that 25 jobs will be created at the new site.
As of now, Davenports has not released the name of the pub.
The venue has posters on the doors promoting the takeover and a message saying “see you soon”.
The venue previously opened as Francesca in November 2019 and before that was called Maltster, Bar 12 and Slug and Lettuce.
It went on sale on March 2, 2021.
The company also owns and operates hotels, nightclubs and event venues in the West Midlands region.
The brewery was established in Birmingham in 1829, with Davenports branded beer sold through online retailers and in West Midlands pubs.
Some of Davenports pubs include The Elms in Shareshill, The Port House in Stourport, The Queen’s Head in Birmingham and The Coach House in Stratford.

The new pub is one of many new businesses moving into the town centre.
A new Korean restaurant, called Grounded Kitchen, is coming to Foregate Street and a new Bubble Tea cafe, called Mooboo, is coming to the High Street.
Worcester will also see a new mini-golf site, Mr Mulligan’s, in the near future as well.
The venue has yet to confirm an opening date.
