Bill would ensure food safety for third-party delivery services

Food delivery apps like Grubhub, DoorDash and Uber Eats could face new restrictions under a bill passing through the Iowa House. The Iowa Restaurant Association says 40% of restaurants in the state have complained about issues with food delivery services. One of the biggest concerns is drivers who don’t follow food safety guidelines. A new proposal making its way through the Iowa House would set statewide standards for delivery vehicles. “We think it’s important to protect consumers so they know that when they order on an app, the restaurant knows about the delivery service, but also that there are no animals in the car. when they bring you the food. That people aren’t smoking in the car.
